Hangtown Little League Baseball Spring 2025

SPRING BASEBALL registration opens on October 21, 2024. Regular registration closes on January 12, 2025, for all Divisions. There is a $50 late registration fee. Late registration closes on January 17, 2025. Beginning January 18, 2025 players requesting to register will be added to their division wait list. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF PLAYER PLACEMENT AFTER JANUARY 17, 2025.  

Divisions:
T-BALL---$180 plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit 
League age 4-5; league age 6 with no prior baseball experience is allowed.
Non-Competitive Instructional Division.
This division is an introduction to baseball and the basics of catching, throwing, and hitting using a batting tee. Coach pitch is introduced as the kid’s skills progress.
Players will typically practice one day a week and play one game a week with games starting around March 24th and going through June 7th. All Games will be played on Saturdays.
Coach and teammate requests are accepted at this level. We will attempt to honor all requests whenever possible; however, teammate or coach requests are not guaranteed. 
 
MINOR A - COACH PITCH---$180 plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit 
League age 6-8
Non-Competitive Instructional Division
Builds on skills learned in the T-Ball division with the development of catching, throwing, and batting.
This division utilizes a combination of coaches and players to pitch. This division introduces players to pitching for the first time. 
For each inning each team may bat until three (3) outs or five (5) runs
Introduces beginning concepts such as the different positions, force outs, and other basic rules of baseball to prepare players for the Minor AA division.
Minor A teams practice 2 days per week and play 1 game per week with games starting around March 24th and going through June 7th. All Games will be played on Saturdays.
Coach and teammate requests are accepted at this level. We will attempt to honor all requests whenever possible; however, teammate or coach requests are not guaranteed.

Assessment Divisions:
Player evaluations are required for all league-age players within the following divisions to evaluate catching, throwing, and hitting skills for player drafts. League-wide assessments will be held on January 25th and 26th, 2025. Parents will need to bring a completed Little League School Enrollment or Proof of Residency documents for their player to be eligible to complete assessments. MINOR AA - PLAYER PITCH---$225 plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit
League age 8-10; players league age 7 who have played a season of Minor A previously are allowed.
Non-competitive Instructional Division with an intro to competitive concepts.
Builds on fundamental skills learned in the Minor A division with players learning to pitch and play the position of catcher. Coaches will also pitch when needed.
Introduces intermediate concepts and rules such as strikeouts, limited stealing, tag outs, pop flies, defensive positioning, covering bases, and backing up throws. 
 Minor AA teams typically have 1-2 practices and 1-2 games per week with games starting around March 24th and going through May 17th. Players can expect to play mid-week and Saturday games.
Coach and teammate requests are accepted at this level. We will attempt to honor all requests whenever possible; however, teammate or coach requests are not guaranteed. 
**Note: 9 and 10-year-old players who hope to play in All-Star tournaments must try out for the Minor AAA division.**
 
MINOR AAA ---$300 Plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit
League age 9-10; league age 11 who are not drafted into the Major divisions.
Competitive Instructional Division.
All league ages 10-11 not drafted into Majors will be drafted to AAA and league age 9 who are not drafted to AAA will be moved to AA.
Further develops skills learned in the Minor AA division and prepares players for the Majors division with only players pitching to batters and no coaches on the field.
Introduces more advanced concepts of baseball such as walks, bunting, stealing home, defensive rotations/coverage, and advanced rules such as the infield fly rule. 
League-wide assessments will be held on January 25th and 26th, 2025.
League age 9-12 players who do not participate in the assessment process are prohibited from participating in the Little League International All-Star Tournament at the end of the season. Players who wish to be considered for All-Star Tournament Play at the end of the regular season will need to submit availability commitment forms, proof of residence, and a certified birth certificate before the start of All-Star practices in early June. If you would like your player to be considered for an All-Star team please plan on having him or her available between June 24th and July 10th for All-Star tournament play. 
Players at this level typically play 2 games per week with games starting around March 24th and going through June 7th. 
Coach requests and teammate requests are NOT accepted at this level. 
 
MAJORS---$300 Plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit
League age 11-12; league age 10 who attend player evaluations and are drafted.
Competitive Division.
All league age 12 will be drafted to Majors and any league age 10-11 who are not drafted to Majors will be drafted to AAA.
Requires developed skills learned in the Minor divisions and exposes players to advanced youth baseball strategy and competition.
Players should have developed catching/throwing skills and understand basic/intermediate rules and concepts of baseball.
League-wide assessments will be held on January 25th and 26th, 2025.
League age 9-12 players who do not participate in the assessment process are prohibited from participating in the Little League International All-Star Tournament at the end of the season. 50/70 COMPETITIVE DIVISION---$300 Plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit
League age 11-13
Competitive Division.
The division requires developed skills and exposes players to advanced baseball competition on a field with a 50’ pitching mound and 70’ bases.
Some games in this division will require travel to play against other leagues. 
All players must attend league-wide assessments which will be held on Saturday, January 25th and 26th, 2025.
League age 13 players who are NOT drafted to play on a 50/70 team will be drafted in the Juniors Division and play at that level and League age 12 players who are NOT drafted to play 50/70 team will be drafted in the Majors Division.
Players at this level typically play 2 games per week with games starting around March 24th and going through June 7th. 
League age 12-13 players who do not participate in the assessment process are prohibited from participating in the Little League International All-Star Tournament at the end of the season. If you would like your player to be considered for an All-Star team please plan on having him or her available between June 24th and July 10th for All-Star tournament play.

JUNIORS DIVISION---$300 Plus $100 Refundable Volunteer Deposit
League ages 13-15
Home games will be played at Pleasant Valley School and Juniors division teams will travel down the hill to play Juniors division teams from other local Little League's throughout the regular season.
League age 15 year olds who wish to play in the junior division may not be a PITCHER due to other player safety
 All players age 13-15 who register for this level must participate in a league-wide assessment process and then be drafted onto a Juniors team. League wide assessments will be held on Saturday, January 25th and 26th, 2025
Players at this level typically play 2 games per week with games starting around March 24th and going through June 7th. 
League age 13-15 players who do not participate in the assessment process are prohibited from participating in the Little League International All Star Tournament at the end of the season. If you would like your player to be considered for an All Star team please plan on having him or her available between June 24th and July 10th for All-Star tournament play.    
Coach requests and teammate requests are NOT accepted at this level.
